Sun and Earth
On Monday 27th January, the Sun shifts from Gate 41 in the root, to Gate 19 in the same center.
Gate 19:- The Gate of Wanting
Themes:- Sensitivity, Community empowerment, Connection, Needs attunement
Gate 19, also known as The Gate of Wanting, is considered the most sensitive gate in the Human Design chart. It's a very emotional gate and very very sensitive in nature. This gate is anchored in the root center. The root center isn’t so much of an emotional energy but the gate 19 in there is sensitive to the emotional energy of other people because of its harmonic gate 49 which resides in the solar plexus center and carries emotional energy. This relationship explains why gate 19 is so attuned to the emotional energy of others. The sensitivity of gate 19 can manifest in many ways. It might show up as being deeply affected by sounds, external stimuli, physical sensations, or even the foods you eat.
Sensitivity has the potential to become your greatest strength. By understanding and managing your sensitivity, you can create a sense of balance in your interactions with the world. When you learn to navigate and manage it effectively—understanding what you need to avoid and how to maintain your balance in the presence of others—you can transform this sensitivity into a strength. By allowing experiences to flow through you rather than clinging to or overwhelming you, you create space that feels aligned, empowering, and free from unnecessary strain.
Gate 19 is part of the tribal circuit and plays a key role in the relationship channel. Hence, its energy is deeply connected to themes of relationships and intimacy.
This gate is deeply tied to our need for community and mutual support, fueling the urge to feel connected and valued. Hence, the energy of Gate 19 invites us to gently attune to both our own needs and the needs of others, fostering an environment where intimacy can flourish. By embracing sensitivity as a positive force, we can build meaningful bonds, create deeper connections, and nurture a sense of belonging in the world around us.
Gate 19 is grounded by the Earth in Gate 33, located in the throat center.
Gate 33:- The Gate of Privacy
Themes:- Contemplation, Privacy, Memories, Gathers experiences, Wisdom
Anchored in the Throat Center, Gate 33 is one of the three storytelling gates in the Human Design chart. Its energy is dedicated to sharing stories that serve the greater good of the collective. Gate 33 invites us to reflect on both our personal experiences and the stories we hear from others, digesting their meaning deeply before sharing them intentionally with the right people at the right time.
By doing so, we contribute to the collective wisdom, using the power of storytelling to inspire, connect, and uplift.
Gate 33 is part of the collective circuitry, specifically within the sensing sub-circuit, which is governed by right-brained energy. This type of energy is inherently creative, expansive, and experiential. It allows us to process and understand the world through the lens of our personal experiences. This right-brained energy enables us to reflect on our experiences and express them through storytelling. The stories we tell aren’t based on logic or reason, but rather on the richness of our embodied experiences and creativity, which are channeled through the sensing circuit.
By doing this, you also support yourself in managing the sensitivity highlighted by the Sun in Gate 19. When we process and release even painful stories, we free ourselves from the heightened sensitivity that lingers when experiences remain unresolved. The energy of Gate 33 helps us discern the right timing—when we’re ready to share and when others are ready to receive. It reminds us that the most impactful stories are shared with care and at the perfect moment, creating space for everyone to hear, connect, and grow.
Mercury
On Wednesday, January 29th, Mercury—the planet of communication, expression, and thoughts—shifts from Gate 61 in the Head Center to Gate 41 (Gate of Contraction) in the Root Center. Fantasy is a common experience of Gate 41. This energy invites us with the pressure to desire, dream, and imagine. With Mercury transiting Gate 41, this energy becomes amplified, offering the ability to communicate and give voice to your dreams. It’s a time to articulate and breathe life into the visions and ideas that have been stirring in your imagination, turning them into something tangible and real.
By Saturday, February 1st, Mercury shifts once again, moving into Gate 19 (The Gate of Wanting) in the Root Center. As we discussed earlier in the context of the solar transit, Gate 19 is a highly sensitive gate, attuned to both emotional energy and the needs of others.
This transition aligns beautifully with the current solar energies, amplifying the themes of sensitivity and connection. It invites us to be mindful of our emotional responses, attune to the needs of others, and embrace the power of sensitivity in our interactions and communication.
So, this week, Mercury’s energy invites you to pause and reflect on key questions: What do you truly want? What do you care about, and what changes do you want to see as we step into this new phase?
This is also a powerful moment to reflect on how we envision our communities evolving—how do we want to upgrade our relationships and our ability to communicate with one another?
Then Mercury moves into Gate 13 (Gate of Listener), on Wednesday 5th Feb.
Venus
Venus—the planet of love, values, and what we care about—remains in Gate 36 (The Gate of Crisis) in the Solar Plexus center. I covered this in my previous cosmic weather forecast, so you can explore this week’s relationship theme here:
Mars
The planet of Mars provides you with the opportunity for growth as it illuminates the areas of your life that have room for growth.
It goes retrograde On Friday January 31st, highlighting the Gate 53 (Gate of Beginnings) in the Root Center.
Gate 53 is known as the gate of starting and beginning new things. Positioned in the sensing circuit, it taps into right-brained energy—creative, experiential, and not bound by logic. With Mars currently activating this gate, we’re entering a phase of powerful initiation. For the next couple of months, we have a unique opportunity to embrace the energy of beginnings, to take bold steps forward, and to start something new.
